The name is inspired by Elin Wägner (1882-1949), a Swedish journalist, author and feminist who was the second woman (after Selma Lagerlöv) to be elected into the Swedish Academy. Her books depict women’s lives and she often wrote about women’s rights to vote, work and be free.
